I think when you address your finances, the rest of the well-being pieces fall into place easier.  Financial Security relieves the pressure on your career and eliminates a major source of stress for nurses.  Nurses have enough to worry about when delivering care, they shouldn’t be stressed about their bills or paychecks too.  They also shouldn’t fear financial retribution for advocating for themselves and their patients.  For too long nurses at the bedside have been exploited and taken for granted.  Financially secure, informed, and professional nurses means better healthcare for everyone.  When your finances are good and you don’t hate your job, enjoying life should easier!  I presented a poster at the 2024 ONA Nurse’s Convention about the potential impact of nurse financial well-being on the profession.  It can be viewed HERE.
